本片根据真实历史为背景，讲述在智利军事独裁首脑奥古斯托·皮诺切特执政期间，“广告救国”的传奇故事。皮诺切特的军政府用残暴高压政策镇压异己，引起了大量不满。但面对国际施加的压力，被迫举办公投，由人民用“Yes”或“No”的方式，决定是否由皮诺切特接任下一届八年任期。反对党领袖找来一位年轻的广告人雷内·萨维德拉（盖尔·加西亚·贝纳尔 Gael García Bernal饰）为他们的反动运动做广告宣传。这场投票战争到底是否在广告宣传中取得最后的胜利呢？导演帕布罗·拉雷恩长久以来关注智利政局，继《杀手夜狂热》、《后事》之后，创作了这部“皮诺切特三部曲”的最后一部。 本片荣获2013年第85届奥斯卡金像奖-最佳外语片提名，并入围2012年第25届东京国际电影节主竞赛单元-东京电影节大奖，导演帕布罗·拉雷恩于2012年斩获第65届戛纳电影节导演双周-黄金马车奖。收起
